Creating awareness, cooperation and inclusivity, and spreading of the light of volunteerism

24th March, 2017, Uttara Model Town, Dhaka - A sound education should not be an exclusive and privileged commodity, especially, when underprivileged children need it more than anything else. Smallfoot is a youth based community service effort based on this principle. No kid deserves an automated pass to the underprivileged class of our country. Not since we can easily make a difference. To continue this initiative we require further funding and ergo, “Support Smallfoot.” The fundraiser brought volunteers from all over the city together to work for a greater cause and thus creating awareness, cooperation and inclusivity among the participants along with the spread of the light of volunteerism. An event page was created on Facebook from the YES Alumni Bangladesh Facebook page. Volunteers registered on an online form published on event page and came to the fundraising venue on the given date. They were then be briefed on their work. The volunteers were provided boxes to collect funds in. Finally, they spread out based on predetermined zones and collected funds from civilians in two different phases on the event date. Apart from the physical event we have also created an online campaign to raise funds. The project was successfully completed and we have reached our goal. We have also created a mass awareness for inclusive education and encourage public initiative towards steps like these.
