YES Alumni Bangladesh extend their hands to a local youth organization working for the betterment of the community
15th April, 2017, Dhaka - YES Alumni Bangladesh has been tirelessly helping the Bangladeshi community since the beginning of its existence. Call of Service is one of the few projects by YES Alumni Bangladesh where they extend their hands to a local youth organization working for the betterment of the community. Sajib Smrity Foundation is one such organization that seeks the help of YES Alumni Bangladesh. The organization is involved with community service projects like blood drives and clothes drives. On April 21st, 2017, A.F.M. Munif Mushfiq Khan (K-L YES 2011-12) coordinated the training project that introduced Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to the four founding members of the organization. Mobashir Monim (K-L YES 2012-13) trained the participants on how to brainstorm project ideas, write a project proposal, and effectively implement a community service project. Call to Service was held at the conference room of North End Coffee Roasters (Dhaka, Bangladesh) – the venue sponsor of the training workshop. The two-hour project ended as the participants successfully brainstormed a demo project and outlined a project proposal. The trainer and the coordinator of the project also answered the questions regarding project funding and how to achieve more output with limited resources. Through this event, YES Alumni Bangladesh now gained a new ally who pledged to assist and collaborate in future projects with their large volunteer base.
